Why am I running?
For me, it’s pretty simple. I’m running to move Florida in the “Wright” Direction. I am a first-generation American coming from a working-class family. Growing up and throughout my life, I’ve had the opportunity to see both the ups and downs throughout Florida. With this, I know change can happen. I see a vision for a better and stronger Florida.
Serving the public is an essential role of an elected official, which is precisely what I desire to do. I want to serve the public by providing a voice for the working class and amplifying the voices of underserved communities. I seek to push for a better Florida and move us towards a better and brighter future.
I plan to bring light and invite a safe space to have those uncomfortable but necessary conversations. At the same time, I will work towards creating a system that works for everyone, not just the elite and privileged.
Oftentimes, the 99% are treated as the minority when we are the majority. The working class, such as healthcare workers, restaurant workers, educators, farmers, and many other professions, are prime examples. They are essential, yet have to fight tooth and nail for reasonable hours, living wages, and health care. We do not prioritize the people who hold us up.
We need to move Florida in the “Wright” direction. That is why I am running.
